Yoga is the joy of connection. We experience often a gap between our aspirations and actions; our desires and values; our intent and behaviors. This gap can manfiest as limitation, attachment, anxiety and other perceptions.
On a deeper reflection we know a witness state that is beyond these passing states of emotions, pains, frustrations, intellectual values shaped by culture , beliefs, age and space, a knowing state that is ever present.
Vedanata and the sister science of other wisdome and cpontemplative practices state that anchor to this unchanging witness state and skillfully deal with the changing phenomenon. Deal with the external reality with internal stability.
To develop inner stability, we need knowedge of who we are, the seeking that we have, the nature of the world and our relation. Our regular being and acting is usually spread between the sense of me interacting with the world is the source of joy and sorrow is the current wave that we ride on.
Vedanta tells us that it is the same oneness reflecting as you and the world, it is YOU that you seek, You seek your ever present, ever aware joyful state, whihc is your true nature. Currently this experience of the Subjective Self is hidden with all the changing thoughts in your mind.
Hence the path and the journey is to get all of various identities and roles we play to orient , identify ourselves in that vision.
Vedanta gives you this highest vision, lifts you up by telling us that You are already complete.
Yoga tells you with your own effort, you can get to a state of experience of this oneness through body, breath, intention and channeling the attention.
So Vedanta and Yoga are the two wings that we fly on to give this easeness in our life transactions and experience the freedom.
Expereience the Sat Chit Ananda nature by stilling all other thoughts and channeling your attention to dwell on the anchor of your Sat Chit Ananda nature.
Discursive thoughts that we accumulate throughout the day, majority of these comes from Not perfroming our actions according to our inherent values that we know are correct; too fixated on immediate pay back, always hankering that every action to lead to a certainity of a pleasure, Not paying attention to the humanity that we are part of.
So even as we engage in learning intellectually about our true nature, Expereiencing through Sadhana, we are filling these discursive thoughts every day.
So purify your actions keeping in mind the greater good of community and do your duty cheerfully and skillfully. This helps to develop a clearer mindset. Be connected to the needs of those around you.
This is the structure of all spiritual practices -
Know that You are good, Do some good, Feel the goodness of self and others, Rest in the goodness :)
All this do with full body, breath and intention over and over.
So there is nothing more precious to discover than yourself.
